The Brief
The Yila Healing Trail brought together First Nations knowledge holders, local businesses and the wider community for a ten-day celebration of healing, nature and connection on the NSW South Coast.
While another designer created the original website, Rising Sun Media was engaged to develop the festival's broader visual identity, reshape the website's aesthetic, and create a cohesive suite of promotional material that would carry the festival's values across every public touchpoint.
The Challenge
The challenge was to create a visual language that honoured the festival's cultural foundation while feeling genuinely welcoming to everyone.
The design needed to find common ground across a diverse community. Every element, from the website styling and social media to street banners and event posters, was designed to evoke a shared relationship with nature and invite people into that conversation with curiosity, warmth and respect.
The Outcome
More than a collection of design assets, the work became a cohesive visual language that supported a festival centred on relationship, community and the healing power of the natural world.
