for Yila Healing Festival

I was thrilled to be asked to put together a branding strategy and digital content for the inaugural Yila Healing Festival, an immersive nature-based, cultural event held over 10 days across the NSW South Coast.

The goal was to create a cohesive and visually compelling identity that delivered on whimsy, fun and connection as it merged Indigenous and non-indigenous programs in a real attempt to heal community-wide.

Through website consulting, branding, client nurture emails and social media content, this was a truly wonderful project to be part of.

The approach included designing street banners and event signage that aligned with the festival’s vibrant, playful approach to healing. We also created visually appealing social media graphics to promote the event across multiple platforms, and managed newsletter campaigns, ensuring festival-goers, volunteers and important community members stayed up-to-date and engaged.

Design elements drew inspiration from Indigenous art and culture, our unique natural surroundings and our diverse community. I felt like we created engaging content that blended diverse aspects of our community in a fun, playful way and that encouraged people to widen perspectives, soften judgement and engage with each other through common ground.

Below are just some of the body of work undertaken over the 8-month contract including examples of
event banners, social media posts, and website design elements
that helped bring the Yila Healing Festival to life.
